David’s Journey into Linux
David’s path to Linux started four years ago with a plan to break into web development. He envisioned designing websites and even freelancing full-time—until he realized front-end development wasn’t where he truly wanted to be.
That’s when he discovered the backend infrastructure supporting those websites—specifically, Linux. This pivot changed everything. He became curious about how users interact with systems beyond what they see on a page or in their browser, and how tools and platforms operate behind the scenes to support applications that drive businesses.
Before teaching Linux, David spent countless hours researching and experimenting with how features, errors, and bugs are handled in real-world systems. With a background in teaching and coaching in other industries, he found a way to blend his love for Linux with his ability to simplify complex topics for others.

He says that helping students navigate Linux issues during live sessions keeps him on his toes and helps increase his own knowledge. These real-time interactions with students provide critical data that help us continually enhance our curriculum and UX.
David finds joy in making complex topics fun and approachable. He knows that when users feel comfortable, supported, and clear about what’s happening, it leads to better learning and stronger conversion rates into job placements.
